Meaning of tattoo: The flag of England consists of a white leaf with a St. George's cross. According to Christian hagiography, Saint George was a Roman soldier from Anatolia and is (among other things) the patron saint of England. This red cross appeared as a symbol of England already at the time of the Crusades and is one of the oldest symbols representing England. It received the status of the national flag of England in the 16th century.
